Once again the season begins at both the Frontier Trading Post, Soda Pop Saloon and Country Cabins Motel. With the arrival of April it signifies the first Saturday night of music and dancing at the Soda Pop Saloon. The long awaited end to the winter blahs when everyone can once again take to the dance floor and enjoy the music provided by the Diamond Trio Band which consists of Norm Paulsen, his daughter Cindy Reyes and drummer, Steve Scott along with a variety of guest singers. It has become a weekly happening when we often have customers at Country Cabins Motel check in just to make a weekend of it and take in the entertainment and shopping at our neighbors next door at the Trading Post. We work well together and not only promote each other but the entire community and surrounding towns and what there is available to do in Southern Iowa. We have a wide variety of activities from hunting and fishing to bird and wildlife watching to camping and shopping the unique variety of local shops and stores. It has been amazing to watch the transformation of our downtown district with the ongoing historic restoration and many new stores have opened as a result. It is an exciting time for Chariton and we are very proud of the fresh new look as the progress unfolds. We also have several new Amish businesses that have opened up around the County. Take the time to give Chariton and Lucas County a visit this year and discover some of the new and exciting things we have to offer. Here at Country Cabins we have added new cabins and RV and tent sites and the Trading Post has the newly added Hillbilly mini-golf along with lots of new merchandise to their store and bait and tackle shop. We look forward to your business and make sure to stop in for a tour of our places anytime as we promise you will not go away disappointed. Safe travels and we’ll see you soon.
