Happy 4th of July from Country Cabins Motel

Wishing everyone a safe and happy 4th of July and hoping each and every person is spending time with the people and families that they love and cherish. Also time to reflect on those that have sacrificed so much for us in every branch of the military so that we may have the freedoms today that we so often take for granted. I spent the day talking with customers and giving tours at Country Cabins Motel and enjoyed the coolest July 3rd that I have seen in a very long time. Danced and listened to great music at the Soda Pop Saloon with a large crowd in attendance on Saturday night. We love our Saturday nights with Norm and Cindy and all the other friends we have made over the years and are lucky to have them as neighbors. Best of all was the time I got to spend with my dear friends Ron and Teresa Wells. Ron is the great nephew of Jerry Wells who built the former Lake Vista Motel and Supper Club which is now Country Cabins Motel. We spent several hours telling stories and taking a tour of the property. We could talk for hours and days on end and there are so many stories and memories to share. As we toured the property I showed them various items that we had incorporated into our project that had special meaning to me because they had belonged to Uncle Jerry. We stepped inside one of the new cabins as the cool evening air became a little too chilly and sat by the warm air provided by our new heat system that we quickly fired up for the first time. Worked great! Ron is a veteran also and has served our Country. Thanks so much for your service Ron. Ron is having some health issues and is making a trip to Rochester Clinic this week so please keep him and his family in your prayers.

We have just completed another cabin with several more in the plans before Summer ends so stop out for a tour anytime. Each one becomes my new favorite and this last one really turned out great and combines old and new items but has a fantastic view over the timber around us. It is a hunting themed cabin with decorative items to compliment the theme. Whether you are fishing or hunting or coming to town for an event, family or class reunion, visiting family or working construction we have the very nicest rooms, suites, cabins and RV spots in all of Southern Iowa. We look forward to your visit soon and we love giving tours. Stop out and take a look at the many options we have for your lodging needs.20160703_10003220160703_095815
